Well, I finally closed on the house on Friday. Once again, I'm only responsible for paying for one house. What a relief! I will confess to a slight tinge of sadness while I was signing the papers. I am back home in Knoxville and once again have actual broadband internet access at my disposal. Thank (deity of your choice)! Satellite internet is a joke. I had a productive night last night. My parents came over and we all worked on sprucing up the house. I picked up a package of those eraser-sponge things and wiped down walls and trim. So I'm a little more irritated than usual with The Shrub. It turns out that he will be in Nashville tomorrow apparently visiting some business nearby. Therefore, I must be at work for sure before 9:00 and before 8:30 would be better because they will, at some point, not only close the roads but also close the gates to our parking lot ( Read more... )

Well, my New Year's Day did not got as planned. Due to various problems at work, I ended up working eight hours straight.
